Recently, one of our cats gave my husband and I quite the scare. She became very sick out of the blue and we had no idea why. She's fine now, thank goodness, but it was really scary. The Baron!

Because I know and believe there is no such thing as a coincidence, I must tell this story.  I was sitting down write this blog, with nothing in mind to write about.  I meditated and asked Papa Legba to please open some kind of inspirational door.  I sat back completely empty, and looked over at two rosaries that dear Khouzhan Lucy had sent to me a few years ago.  Sitting them side by side, my blogging decision would be made by the rosary I picked up first.  Guess who came through for my fist blog of October, the Baron (Symbolized by St. Gerard).

Of course he came through; it is month of the Gede.  He is also the LWA that sits on our own dear Mambo’s head. 

The Baron, with his dapper top hat and tuxedo is so much more than the grim reaper.  Our favorite party boy love tobacco and rum, he is prankster and joker.  He known and called upon for people approaching death.

He is also the giver of life.  The Baron can be called upon for healing those near death and deciding their fate.  He and his wife Mamam Bridgette is a powerful couple and who alongside her husband can bring darkness and light to everyone.  They can be called up separately or as a couple, for your particular cause. 

As a typical flirty man, swinging his cane, whistling, and using foul language, he is also loving and understanding of almost any situation.  As a husband, he can be called upon in love situations, as a leader he can help you with business decisions, personal and professional. 

This LWA kind of hides his sweet and sensitive side, he watches and protects us all.  When you remember him, he is touched and he remembers you too.

Sobo

Almost everything I do is a matter of luck and or money, most of the time both.  With sale it is luck that results in money.  With buying a car (which I am trying to right now – yuck) it has to do with money first, and then luck with the chosen car.

Either way you’re really need both.  The dear LWA Sobo is the gentleman we all call upon for just these things and many other needs.  His heart of gold rewards us with gold itself, golden opportunities and golden results.  He is a fierce warrior who understands all obligations and insists you do too.  He is a wonderful guide for anything from business dealing to clipping coupons, nothing too big or too small.

Do not ever cross him by making empty promises.  He carries a large sword and is not afraid to use it.  He is also very happy to participate in a party and will protect you and shield you because he loves you and wants the absolute best for you. 

Sobo is the LWA you can call upon for a job interview, home and car search, trouble with an employer or employee and anything to do with MONEY!  He like the colors white, green and yellow and loves mutton.  Also, he is a healer and can be called upon is serious situations.

This CFO is powerful, skilled and generous to all that service him.  He also has a really cute side, he is kind and sweet like peanut brittle – tough to bite but so worth getting know.

Healing and Attraction

This is going to read like a page out of diary.  After years of cloistering myself, occasionally dating and dotting on HD's I have actually started going out with my friends...to actual night clubs, you know the super smoky, lots people with bad hair and to much makeup, and that is just the guys.  The woman have really big hair and really low cut tops and short short skirts.  Not judging, I kinda forgot thats how you do it. 
 
As an onlooker, I admired these people for putting it al out there, having fun, drinking, dancing and laughing with total strangers.  Being a little shy and insecure, it was comforting to see people not give a damn about anything.  It reminded me that it is OK and really fun to let loose sometimes.  I didn't bump and grind on the dance floor, but I did get my version of a groove on.  I also realized that just because I sell furniture and have an active library card I also have a little game left in me. 
 
I think this sudden and never to late awakening was due to healing spell work I did on myself.  White image candle Mind , Body, Spirit have an amazing affect on a healing process no matter how the pain got there.

What a difference a day makes!!!

We all have really bad days, some of them are concerning our love lives some of them work related, some of them family and health. 

I speak from experience, and I feel your pain.  Instead of crying and drinking a bottle of wine, I stayed calm and had one glass of wine, as we all know a day can make a difference.  So, I set up a candle for Erzulie Freda, my Met Tet and spoke to her and filled her in my really bad day, even though she already knew, it felt good to tell her. 

I also asked to sleep safely and soundly.  At that moment, I was so, so glad I had developed that relationship with my Met Tet.  I did sleep soundly the next day was so much better.

Baby Steps, Patience and Trust

The Baron!

Who do you call upon when you are working with someone who says stupid things and you want them to just shut up and go away?  Today, I called upon the Baron because a pesky contract worker that I hire every six months was a little rude.

I asked the Baron to please get him away from me so I could finish my work and he could finish his as quickly as possible our, after all it is Saturday. 

We were done in no time all and could go our separate ways.  Baron Samedi is known for his top hat and dinner jack.  He has a salty mouth and is very fond of tobacco and rum.

This charming Master of the underworld is also looks kindly upon those who service him.  While the outside world sees him as dangerous and crude, we see him as fun and a prankster, like a frat boy.   He is powerful and the giver of strength, fearless and extremely protective.  He is perfect LWA to call on if you have an exam because of his intellectual abundance.

Most of all he wants to see all of do the best we can, like a father would.  PS, he is also a little bit of a flirt!
