I had a discussion with a friend about the end of summer. The equinox is still a couple weeks away, but summer also seems to end after Labor Day weekend, or when kids go back to school. Either way, I see a difference with what is available at the farmer’s market. Corn instead of lettuce, more apples and fewer peaches.
The Lwa of agriculture is Cousin Azacca. Syncretized to St. Isadore, whose feast day is in May, Azacca can be honored throughout the agricultural season. Any time of the year, really. While he can be called upon to be sure we are not hungry, in a broader sense we can ask for any kind of abundance. Anything you want to grow in your life, such as success, health or love, can be done with Azacca’s help.
There is more about Cousin Azacca in this Spellmaker newsletter from 2007.
Love, Khouzhan Lucy
