Khouzhan Buddy here. As you can see in the above picture, these people are praying and leaving offerings, in public. Well where I live, you can go to jail. Even if you leave food offerings! I had offerings from a ritual one time and believe it or not someone called the police on me. I was thinking that I was minding my own business, as they should have, but instead they called the police. I left the offerings and drove away. Sure enough, when I got home my phone rang. It was the police telling me that if I didn't go and pick everything up that I had left, which was by the way, food offerings, that they were going to fine me $500 and possibly put me in jail. I asked them why was it so bad to leave food offerings. They said that someone could come along and eat it and get food poisoning! I could have just died. So I went back and got all of my offerings and put them into a paper bag and put it in a dumpster. I even told the police that maybe wild animals could feed off of it. They asked me why I would even do that. I was honest and told them it was part of my religion. They still said it was against the law. I could have argued all day with that one, but I didn't have $500 and I surely couldn't afford to go to jail. So now, I leave offerings at my friend's place. I still don't understand how others can leave memorials where someone had died from a car accident or motorcycle accident and it is ok with the law. I wasn't leaving anything harmful or trash. I was just leaving food offerings.
