Hey everyone! I hope you're having a terrific Saturday! I just wanted to share some more pictures from the exhibition from my previous post. As a refresher: this was a series of altars in an art museum!
I smiled when I saw Ogoun's machete!
They even had a corner space reserved for a spirit, just as you can for the lwa Azaka!
This is one of my favorite pics!
I will continue to share these pictures. In the meantime, I would like to mention the Spellmaker Bath Kits
(You can click on the link to see them.) In Vodou, baths are sometimes crafted for a specific purpose. These are some amazing bath kits that have been prepared by Mambo Sam for a variety of situations. Though I love them all, I would especially recommend the Milk of Damballah White Bath Kit. It is designed to remove negativity, bad emotions, and to allow healing. It has helped me tremendously when I have faced obstacles in my life. I sincerely believe that anyone can benefit from this one and that ALL of them will be beautiful experiences.
Light and Love,

Chakras are energy centers within the etheric or spiritual body. There are seven major chakras, the first of which is the "Root" chakra - the origin of grounding, sexuality, earth connection and security which is associated with the color red and located at the base of the spine. Working with the chakras can help balance inequities in your energy.
Here is a meditation video on the Root chakra for you to enjoy:

I learned a VERY important lesson this week: do not "resist" the lesson, because it will only pursue to an even greater lesson. How did I learn this? While driving through a beautiful section of the country there was a windy road. I felt very nervous driving on this road and so I took an alternate route to return. The alternate route turned out to be about 100x more windy and cliff-hanging. I am grateful for the lesson, and grateful that I survived this!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to do a quick introduction so you have a little more idea of my story and background, how I got involved with Spellmaker, and become a novitiate!
I found Spellmaker back in 2005. Like many of my Khouzhans (cousins), I found Spellmaker because I wanted assistance with a difficult situation. Yep, you guessed it, a love situation. Well, let me tell you, I ended up falling in love... with Spellmaker!
I had a telephone appointment with Mambo asking what to do about my ex and recent breakup, and without any background at all on my ex whatsoever, she told me pretty conclusively that my ex was off the charts (!) bad news, and no, she did not recommend any kind of spellwork. Stay away, and move on.
That was a good call. As it turns out, that same ex has wreaked quite a bit of havoc post-breakup, posing as my post-breakup "friend" and causing a hefty load of financial and credit damage. Theft and conversion, fraud and abuse of privileges, and a host of other charges have been filed against her, totaling in more than $100k in damages. (and a happy ending in that I won the court battle!)
Yes. All the damage that was done was mitigated by her advice and by the spellwork and services to the Lwas, who helped ensure that justice would prevail in the end. And that lesson was an incredible learning experience, one that I think I was meant to face.
Good news. Now I am prepared for even more sophisticated malice or exploits, and I have benefited from Mambo's and Spellmaker's arsenal of goodies to defend justice and the peace! Bring it on.
I have many wonderful stories to offer about successes with spell kits, charms, candles, services, and using other Spellmaker items, since becoming enamored and then totally aligned with Spellmaker and Mambo Sam in 2005.
I can't possibly in one blog post, name all of my favorite stories and services and successes from spell work over the last five years. Suffice it to say that Spellmaker and Mambo Sam, Parran Matt, Sisters Candelaria and Bridget, and all my Khouzhans, have completely changed my life, the course of my life, and my perspective on life. Haha, consider that I was an atheist when I found Mambo in 2005. Not now! I found God and the Lwas, thanks to Mambo. She was ever so patient with my questions. :-)
They are my family now, along with my birth family, and I love them with all my heart and soul and mind. They are ever-supportive, ever-present, ever-helpful, ever-loving, and ever-wise. We support each other, offer instruction, learn from each other, offer encouragement and prayer, and gain tips to being really powerful, effective Voduisants.
I couldn't ask for more from a family. I <3 you all. I <3 Marran and Parran especially. Thank you for everything. Thank you for being you. Thank you for being there for all of us. Thank you for teaching us. Thank you for welcoming us to your family. I love you!

Hello Everyone!
Last night's prayer meeting was powerful!!!! There was a lot of energetic Love present as we prayed. Those who attended presented their particular prayer requests and we called on God and our Lwa for those intentions. Then, we moved on to pray for all of the requests that we received by email since the last prayer meeting. Before closing, we joined together in a visualization prayer for healing in the Gulf region. It was wonderful!
I would like to share this prayer with you now:
First, take a slow deep breath and then exhale slowly letting go of all your thoughts and worries. Next, focus your attention on your heart chakra (your heart area if you are unfamiliar with this term). Go within and visualize a golden light that is soft and warm, like a sun. Let the light expand and expand, growing bigger and bigger until it is like a Sun. You can take your time with this.......
Then, form a ray - a Golden Ray - out of the warmth of this big sun. Imagine the words "Strength, " "Unconditional Love, " and "Forgiveness." You can also add in any other words of healing that you feel come from your heart.
Now, attach these words on the end of your ray - kind of like they are Post-it notes :) Direct your ray to the Gulf region. Imagine it on a map if you want to, and that you are sending your ray right to that spot. Release your ray over that region and just let it go. I like to imagine mine dropping down and then spreading out far and wide over the whole area. You have sent your positive energies for healing and strength and love to the ocean, the wildlife, the people and the industries of that area.
So, for today, I would like to leave you with this quote:
"Love wholeheartedly, be surprised, give thanks and praise--then you will discover the fullness of your life." -Brother David Steindl-Rast
Much Love to You All!!!

Vodun (a.k.a. Vodoun, Voudou, Voodoo, Sevi Lwa) is commonly called Voodoo (vû'dû) by the public. The name was derived from the god Vodun of the West African Yoruba people who lived in 18th and 19th century Dahomey. Its roots may go back 6,000 years in Africa. That country occupied parts of today's Togo, Benin and Nigeria. Slaves brought their religion with them when they were forcibly shipped to Haiti and other islands in the West Indies.
Vodun was actively suppressed during colonial times.
"Many Priests were either killed or imprisoned, and their shrines destroyed, because of the threat they posed to Euro-Christian/Muslim dominion. This forced some of the Dahomeans to form Vodou Orders and to create underground societies, in order to continue the veneration of their ancestors, and the worship of their powerful gods." 1
Vodun has been freely practiced in Benin since a democratic government was installed there in 1989; about 60% of the population follows this religion. Vodun was formally recognized as Benin's official religion in 1996-FEB. It is also followed by most of the adults in Haiti who are also nominally Roman Catholic. It can be found in many of the large cities in North America, particularly in the American South.
Today over 60 million people practice Vodun worldwide. Religions similar to Vodun can be found in South America where they are called Umbanda, Quimbanda or Candomble.

Try to shift away from seeing the challenge you face as a difficult obstacle or a problem. View your current challenge as an Opportunity instead. The current challenge you are facing -- whether it requires love spellwork, or money/job/luck spellwork, or healing work (try the healing egg or self-improvement doll!), or all of the above -- is actually your path, and therefore your key, to your spiritual growth and advancement.
This challenge is what you need to experience at this moment in time for that growth to happen. How much you grow and advance depends on how well you take advantage of the opportunity to grow!
With Spellmaker candles and spell kits, I can't say enough about how much good the "work" you are doing for yourself and your situation. Whether you are using Mambo's deliciously beautiful spell kits, candles, or other powerful items, or whether you are offering service to the Lwas, the practice you are undertaking will offer you greater benefits than perhaps you may realize at this moment. Mambo Sam's very powerful, time-tested, structured, and peaceful process for asking for assistance from the Lwas may just be your ticket to unfolding your true potential and happiness. Whether you see it or not, it will certainly unfold the next step you need to take right now on that Path!
Instead of focusing on what you want and what you don't have, try to shift your perception of the issue. Try to dislodge yourself from the pattern of observing every single change in behavior or status, for you simply can't analyze these changes from afar, and any attempt to do so may drive you insane.
Realize that we are all constantly inventing and re-inventing ourselves. The challenges that we face, and how we chose to handle them, help us to grow and unfold and advance into our true potential. Recognize that we are always and forever learning and advancing to our true potential.
Next, realize that you are not less whole without your beloved, or without your situation being resolved. You are perfect how you are, and the current challenge is simply a part of the process that will help you lead to your growth.
Just remember, your definition of what's best, and God/Universe and the Lwas' definition of what's best for you may not be the same. Learning and understanding this critical bit is the key. To unlocking your peace and sense of self-worth. To your growth. To your true happiness and where you are actually meant to be, how you are meant to be, and who you are meant to be with.
Trust God, the Universe and the Lwas more than yourself and what you think you need or want to be happy!
Here's to your spiritual peace and advancement, to your true path in life with its utmost good impact on the world.
Love and light,
Khouzhan Athena
