I actually don't know anything about football, which may surprise some of you, but I love those Sunday afternoon parties.  However, it is always a quandary what to take to the host's and hostess's home.  Beer is out of the question because that seems to be what everyone brings.   
 
Salsa and chips are easy; but again, everyone wants to bring that.  Wings kind of gross me out; they are messy and there is no way there are coming into my car.  The perfect answer is a sweet that doesn't need refrigeration or a utensil...cookies.  Special cookies in football shaped things - whatever they are...

Gingerbread Cookie Delight

I love to bake; especially this time of year. One of my favorite recipes to make during the holidays are gingerbread cookies. Below is my favorite ginerbread cookie recipe:

Easy Gingerbread Cookies

Ingredients:

• 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 1/2 cup butter, softened
• 1/2 cup molasses
• 1 egg
• 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon ground ginger
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
• 1/2 teaspoon grated or ground nutmeg
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions:

In a large bowl with a mixer on slow speed, beat all ingredients together until completely mixed. Cover and refrigerate one hour.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. On a lightly floured surface, working with half of the dough at a time, roll 1/8 inch thick. With floured cookie cutters, cut dough into shapes. Place 1/2 inch apart on greased cookie sheets. Bake for 8 minutes or until browned. Transfer cookies to racks and cool; then decorate.

Winter Skincare
