Everybody wants to have beautiful skin. The mayo clinic offers up five easy tips on how you can have beautiful, healthy skin for years to come:
- Protect your skin from the sun. Overexposure to the sun can cause wrinkles, age spots, and can increase the risk of skin cancer. Always use sun screen with an SPF of at least 15 and reapply sun screen every two hours.
- Avoid smoking. Smoking can cause your skin to look older and can contribute to wrinkles. Smoking damages collagen and elastin; the fibers that give your skin strength and elasticity.
- Treat your skin gently. Daily cleansing can be rough on your skin. Use warm water when bathing or showering rather than hot water and avoid strong soaps which can strip oil from your skin. Instead, use mild cleansers like Phraeda's Dew Fresh Cleansing Facial Gel from Sheer Goddess. Pat yourself dry after bathing or showering so your skin retains moisture.
- Eat healthy foods. Eating healthy foods can help you look and feel your best. Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains.
- Manage stress. Uncontrolled stress can cause your skin to be more sensitive and can trigger acne and other skin problems. Take steps to manage your stress by scaling back your to-do list and making time to do the things you enjoy.
