PRACTICAL COLOR MAGICK
by Mambo Samantha Corfield
Colors have magical associations - especially in creating your own spells. Always use a color theme that matches what you are trying to accomplish.
Many of these color associations are very familiar to us: Red or pink for love, green for money, etc.
Traditional Magickal Color Associations
Red: Sexual Love, Good Health, Strength, Danger, Stamina, Charity
Yellow: Joy, Comfort, Persuasion, Charm, Confidence
Green: Money, Luck, Fertility, Energy
Orange: Stimulation, Encouragement, Attraction, Kindness
Blue: Tranquility, Devotion, Understanding, Health, Sincerity, Truth
Indigo: Depression, Impulsiveness, Ambition, Dignity
Violet: Tension, Power, Peity, Sentiment
Black: Death, Sickness, Removal of a Person, Removal of a Thought or Idea from someone.
Numerology Color Associations
1=Red
2=Orange
3=Yellow
4=Green
5=Blue
6=Indigo
7=Violet
8=Rose
9=Gold
Gemstone Color Properties
Agate: Basically shades of brown, irregularly banded or variegated. Wear for vision or gum problems.
Amethyst: Bluish violet to deep purple in color. Wear for expelling poisons and toning the body.
Bloodstone: Bright green to dark green, contains small spots of red jasper. Wear for excessive bleeding or to prevent hemorrhages.
Chrysolite (Peridot): Usually olive green, sometimes yellow or brown. Wear to prevent fevers and also to prevent nightmares.
Coral: Both red and white coral prevent bleeding. Wear to avert the "evil eye." Wear for scars and ulcers.
Garnet: Deep red. Wear for the heart and as a stimulant.
Jade: Green. Soothing, healing; wear for eye problems, kidneys, help strengthen muscles.
Lapis Lazuli: Blue to violet-blue to greenish blue. Eye problems. A very strong stone.
Ruby: Deep red. Wear for problems of the blood, lack of body warmth, poor circulation.
Topaz: Brown, yellow, or pink. Wear to sooth and calm, banishing nightmares and curing insomnia.
So, how do you use these things? First of all, get creative. Think about what you want to accomplish. Choose your items with a theme to them. When you are purchasing items
for magick, try to shop only for that. Keep your intention in mind while you are shopping for each item. Okay. Now you are home with all your magick stuff, right? Let the items
guide you as to what to do with them. Now we realize that this all sounds somewhat simplistic. But if you are just starting in magick - it is good to keep it simple.
Other option: Go get one of our nifty, handy-dandy spell kits at www.spellmaker.com!

Hey there!
This spell is free to be downloaded and used. It is a sample from our "Spells Only" available at Spellmaker.com! -- Mambo Sam
Lucky Money Spell
Equipment needed:
*Play paper money - the larger the denominations, the better.
*Two green candles and one white, big enough to last burning 9 days, 9 minutes a day.
*9 cloves.
*A whole nutmeg.
*Lucky Oil - made from equal parts of pure virgin olive oil and rose oil (rose oil is available at any store that sells essential oils).
*A $1.00, $5.00, or $10.00 bill that you won’t mind donating later.
Spell Casting Steps:
*Inscribe your name down the front of the white candle, using a twig from a green tree.
*On each green candle inscribe three dollar signs.
*Dip your finger in the Lucky Oil and rub it all over the candles repeating 9 times:
“By the power of the elements, I empower you.”
*Set the candles on a table where they will not be disturbed, except by you for 9 days.
*Put the white candle between the two green candles.
*Surround the candles completely with the play money, reserving two large denomination bills.
*Sprinkle the cloves on top of the money.
*Wrap the whole nutmeg up in your real money. Place it in front of the candle with your name on it.
*Each day for 9 days burn the candle for 9 minutes. During these 9 minutes you should concentrate on your luck with money; how you will make the right decisions concerning money, how money will come to you through lotteries, gambling, any “lucky" money
*On the Ninth Day, let the candles burn out completely while you concentrate on your petition.
*On the Ninth Day, take the real money unwrapped from the nutmeg and give it to what you consider a good cause.
*On the Ninth Day, put all the equipment used in the spell together in a safe place.
At the end of 9 days you may discard the equipment discreetly keeping it all together.
Burial is the preferred form of discarding.
NOTE: Keep the nutmeg in your purse, pocket, or wallet as a good luck charm.
Use the cloves in cooking when you want to feel especially lucky (for example, before going gambling).

Hello, everyone!
Happy May to all. Spring often brings about a sense of renewal in us. The trees, birds, and earth itself seem to be coming out of their long winter's sleep.
One of the rituals performed on May 1 is burning a fire for Beltane. Of course, this is also considered "May Day" and is known by other names as well. It is a ritual stemming from Old Gaelic tradition and is celebrated by many Wiccans, Pagans, and other spiritual groups. It is about renewal, protection, fertility, asking for abundance in crops, safety for our children and animals, etc. It is a fun holiday and can be simple, as ours was, or can be much more elaborate (next year, we hope!). In my opinion, you don't have to be any particular religion to benefit from this cleansing and protecting ritual!
Parran Matt and I did the ritual part as the High Priest and Priestess and Sister Bridget was the May Queen. It was simple but powerful with a ritual fire for Beltane. We said our parts and walked around the smoke of the fire to ask for protection and prosperity for ourselves and all those we know and love.
I had mentioned that if people saved their ashes, I would tell them how to use them and here I am to do that!
There are several ways to use these ashes. After reading the list, you might think of some creative ways of your own. I would love to hear them!
1. They are used are for protection. Putting the ashes around the ground of your home. It just takes a little bit. Sometimes they are used on one's body - just rubbing a little bit around your heart area if you are going into a dangerous or scary situation is said to help protect you. It can also be put around areas where you keep animals.
2. The ashes are used to encourage growth. People scatter them in the garden, potted plants, yards, and fields, anywhere that you want to encourage growth. This growth can also be in the form of luck, having enough food, providing for your family, etc.
3. They can also be used to encourage spiritual growth. A little bit can be put in a bath or even mixed in with some kind of oil and anoint yourself with the oil and ashes. If you are a Vodouisant, or like to use Spellmaker oils, you can definitely mix a few of these ashes in any of our oils that would be used to encourage growth of any kind.
4. If your fire was big enough that it left you coals, you can use those coals in magickal writings, veves, wards, drawings of magickal symbols, etc. Commonly, the coals used for writing would be used for petitions in love, life, luck, abundance... rarely is the word "money" used at this time. Mostly it is "abundance, plenitude, bounty" or some similar word.
5. Some people like to save a coal and put in a little bag and use it as a protection charm year round, returning it to the Beltane fire the next year. Then they get another coal from the new fire, and so forth and so on.
6. It isn't uncommon to even mix a little bit of the ash into a big glass of water and drink it. This is said to encourage protection from hexes, enemies, and illness. At one time, these ashes were used as medicine, put into wounds, etc. They are said to aid in fertility. Please use common sense if you are going to imbibe the ashes.
7. What are your ideas? If you bear in mind that these ashes are meant to cleanse, protect, and represent renewal, you might find some very creative ways to use them yourself!
So there are some ways to use your ashes! I also wanted to mention that one should not mix up this tradition with the Catholic tradition of getting ashes on your forehead on Ash Wednesday. That is about repentance and humilty. Actually, there are lots of ways that different ashes are used in spiritual rituals - might expand on this topic later!
Peace out, kiddos,

Greetings everyone! I hope your week is going great!
A very traditional magickal candle is the 7-knob candle. This candle, in one form or another, has been around for maybe thousands of years! I once saw a documentary about the Egyptian pyramids (well I have seen probably thousands of those LOL), and they found remnants of a "knobby" candle in a burial chamber!
However, I do find that many people get confused on exactly how to use a 7-knob candle and wonder exactly what you can accomplish with it! ;-)
Now, technically, this candle is called a "7-knob Wishing Candle" and traditionally has been used to make 7 different wishes towards the same situation. You make the wish, burn that knob. When that knob burns down, you can then make a different wish (or perhaps even the same wish again).
You can also use this candle to work on different aspects of a situation. For instance, let's say that you are doing love spell work and you have a somewhat complicated situation. You could use the 7-knob candle, using each knob of the candle to ask for relief or change in one part of the situation. Let's say you have an intruder to deal with, fear of commitment, the HD has financial problems, his children don't like you, he works too many long hours, etc., etc. Maybe these aren't all huge problems. Maybe some of them are just annoyances. However, you could use, for instance, a red 7-knob candle for a love situation (or even a trio of them if you have a lot of issues within your relationship) and petition for change for a different thing on each knob. Also, as I mentioned above, you could repeat petitions within the same candle, say, doing three knobs on him stopping him from spending time with the intruder, two knobs to make him feel more attracted to you, one knob petitioning for his children to like you, and one knob just to ask for peace in your relationship with him. :-)
Obviously these candles are not going to replace regular spell work, however, whether you have petty annoyances in your relationship or even more serious complications, these candles can help you in a lot of different ways!
The same goes for other situations such as financial ones: You could use one knob to petition for a raise at work, one knob to help you budget better, and so forth and so on!
So if you are looking at a situation in your life and thinking, "Gee, there are a lot of issues here" - you might be in the market for a 7-knob or two!
Love, light, and peace,
Mambo Samantha Corfield

Greetings everyone! Recently I was talking to a long-term client of mine who felt like she was confused about her goal in spell work. She has been working a long time towards a particular goal and while the goal has often seemed in reach, and there has been good progress in her case, she just hasn't quite achieved full results. She noticed that she recently has become confused about what her true goal is in doing her spell work.
We talked for awhile about "way back when" when she first came to me and what she wanted then. It was interesting to see how that goal has shifted and evolved over the years. However, when we talked about it, even though there are some differences now in the goal, the core goal remains the same. It struck me as really important that she stay the course on her core goal even with the realization that even though there are differences in the goal, the main purpose of the work remains the same.
This isn't the first time that someone has come to me who seems to have lost sight of why they started working magickally in the first place! Sometimes the work itself takes on a life of itself and we can mistake the work for the goal! :-)
My recommendation to her was to use a Cosmic Voodoo Destiny Egg in order to help her remember and get back on track with her goal. Also, if the goal has truly drastically changed, working with this Egg kit will also help with knowing and understanding that. There is nothing wrong with a goal changing, growing, evolving over time; the only danger lies in not recognizing that change for what it is! Using the Egg to ask for guidance as to "where am I going next" or "where should I be doing next" and listening to that guidance is a really great tool!
She has reported back to me that after even the very first session she felt re-focused and re-energized on her goal. She has re-worked her path to her goal in such a way that everything now seems more realistic and true to her. :-) Now she no longer feels like she is working towards some nebulous goal that is no longer germane to today's life! She realized that while the circumstances around her goal have changed, the actual goal has not. Now she is able to work on those circumstance to uncloud her goal and make it a clear reach for her again!
Like I said, she certainly isn't the first person to lose sight of her original goal so I thought it would be good to share with you how she used the Destiny Egg to help her out of her own magickal woods!

Hi everyone!
I don't know what is in the air, the water, or the oscillating energy textile vibrations of the Mars connection (okay, I made that last one up)! Seriously, what is going on out there? So many folks that I know are in a huge funk right now - is it the economy? Is it some sort of global funkittude (yep, made that one up, too). Is it the political atmosphere? Disillusionment? What is causing this funk? (But, just think - if we get rid of that "k" then it turns into "fun!")
Well, if only it were that easy - I can drop that "k" and get FUN! Truth is, it usually takes a lot more than dropping a letter to get us out of a funk!
Not even the best of good articles will completely do the trick - though this one is pretty great!
http://www.highexistence.com/choose-happiness-5-ways-to-get-out-of-a-funk
I do believe understanding our funk is key! Facing that situation head-on, although frightening, is going to help us much more than trying to hide from it. Are you grieving? Are you broke? Are you broken-hearted? Have you stopped believing in yourself? Do you just not give a damn right now?
Guess what? You are not alone. You might feel isolated, but truthfully a few trips around the Internet will let you see that you have a lot of company. Heck, a trip around your friends and family might let you see that you have a lot of company! I truly believe that reaching out in some way to someone is key to helping shed that funk! Someone who will listen to you rant, rave, and probably finally break down in tears is invaluable. I have found that sometimes just verbalizing my feelings, out loud (not in an email or text) can be so helpful. When I am done, it seems that I can, somehow, face those challenges that were dragging me down.
So I am going to say step one is talk to someone! All the self help tips in the world won't help you much if you don't feel like you have someone to talk to! Find that one person you can blather all the crap out to - hopefully someone who will just sit and listen - and then take a deep breath and figure out what, amongst all the self help stuff, can help you. The article I reference above truly is a good one - it makes a lot of sense. But, if you read the article, you will see that the gentleman who wrote it, first had sort of a "breakdown" to someone he loved! THEN he was able to go on to his self-help techniques!
Of course, at Spellmaker, we sell lots of stuff for helping with negative energy - white candles, baths, etc. And I do recommend them, obviously! Sometimes you have to keep working with things - white candles are a good example of that. Using the white male or female image candles on yourself can sometimes be an ongoing thing! It just depends on how much stress you have in your life! There isn't anything wrong with feeling like you need to spark up your candle every so often and burn off that negative energy!
But most of all, I want you to talk with someone you trust! Just for a minute, wallow in and embrace that funk! Tell them what you are feeling, tell them if you feel you are at the end of your rope... you might even tell them that you aren't looking for advice - you just want to vent! ;-) Then, look for the things that will help you with the situations at hand!
I know that things seem insurmountable sometimes; I have a pile of stuff going on right now that seems exactly that! I know that I will get through it. But I share in your funk! Maybe we can share in getting rid of it, too! :-) Oh, and I almost forgot - take it easy on yourself!!!!! Not everything is your fault - I swear!
Love, light, and peace,

Happy Tuesday, one and all! :-) I am reposting this blog about ceremonial clothing because for awhile my mother-in-law, the talented and wonderful Eileen, was unable to do the apron and scarf sets because she had a double knee replacement. She is all healed and back in the garden and at the sewing machine! ;-) So for those of you who have been waiting to order, she is available again for your orders.
Love,
Mambo Sam
Hello everyone! As many of you already know, we have recently begun to sell New Orleans Voodoo Apron and Scarf sets. :-) These are made as a collaboration between my lovely mother-in-law, Eileen, and myself. Many of you already know Eileen from the conventions! Some of you have seen her other handiwork in the Erzulie Voodoo Pillows (which we will be offering up again soon!). She is extremely creative and talented.
Many questions have come up surrounding the apron/scarf sets - how to use them, why, what do they represents, do you need one or more than one or any at all, etc.
Let's first just talk briefly about ceremonial clothing in general. Needless to say, Voodoo isn't the only religion or practice with ceremonial clothing. Nearly every major religion has some form of ceremonial clothing, though most of the time this garb is used by the clergy within the religion. Voodoo is a bit different in that everyone who practices ritual or serves the Lwa (Voodoo Spirits) is entitled to wear certain ceremonial clothing.
In Haitian Voodoo, there are many different types of ceremonial clothing - white clothing for Rada ceremonies, red clothing for Petro ceremonies, different color combinations for different events! In fact, different Houses may have different colors that they use when going to public events, such as Rara, to distinguish themselves from each other. Ceremonial clothing is used to honor sometimes all Lwa, one Lwa, or the House from which you come.
In New Orleans Voodoo, we tend to wear a lot of white! I have a theory that mostly that is because it gets so gosh-darned hot there! LOL. Of course, the same is true of Haiti, so that might shoot a hole in my theory. Let me just say that in all my years of growing up going to rituals, almost all the time it was with everyone dressed in white. The exception was the usage of brightly colored aprons! I was taught that the aprons were an homage to the slaves and houseworkers and hair dressers, etc., that brought us and shared with us their beautiful religion. Naturally, we also honor the Lwa in wearing these aprons and head scarves.
At www.spellmaker.com, we have taken these aprons a step further in trying to make them as beautiful as possible and to honor individual lwa through the use of colors, patterns, and decorative items on the apron. For instance, the Erzulie Freda apron below was made especially for the lovely Khouzhan Avery and it is a beautiful violet-pink luxurious material. An applique of a beautiful butterfly (as a nod to Ogoun Feraille) is on the bodice, and it is trimmed in gold for Erzulie's love of golden things! The head scarf has three golden rings (an homage to her three husbands) attached to one end so they will fall down Khouzhan Avery's back of the neck when the scarf is tied. The pictures don't really do the aprons justice because it is hard to show the little details!
When an apron/scarf set is ordered, the first thing we do is see what we know about the person! If you are our regular customer, that is pretty easy since we get to know you pretty well! :-) If you are not, I may email you and ask you a few questions to get a feel for what your personal preferences are. Next, Eileen and I go through material, beads, buttons, trim and decorations. I start out by asking the particular lwa you have picked to guide me and show me what s/he wants or likes. It is funny how readily they vocalize their desires! Both Eileen and myself have felt immediate likes and dislikes! They have their ways of guiding us, that is for sure!
Once we decide on everything for the apron/scarf, I consecrate every item she will be using, even the thread. :-) Then off to work she goes to do her magick! Once the apron is finished, I consecrate the finished product in your name and the name of the Lwa for whom you have asked the apron/scarf to be created. The set is then shipped to you!
The set can be used for any Voodoo magickal endeavor you are doing - spell work, adjunct work, etc. Even if that particular lwa is not usually involved in that particular work it is okay to still wear your apron/scarf and ask them to assist your work and bring their blessing into it. I certainly do not see any wrong way you could use it. Some folks have reported just wearing the apron and scarf when they were meditating, or working on computer projects at home that had nothing to do with voodoo, etc. They felt help from the lwa and felt they concentrated better and were more productive!
One person was having migraines and put their apron and scarf on and just laid down for awhile and ask for the lwa's help, fell into a deep sleep, and woke up feeling wonderful! I think there are just a million creative ways you could use your apron and scarf. In fact, once more people have them, I will ask everyone to please let us know and we can post that!
Hunky and talented Khouzhan Menfo kindly shared this picture of him in his set for Capitaine Agwe. There is more than a nod in this set to Agwe's wife, LaSirene! There is a tiny lighthouse charm on one corner of the head scarf. The material was patterned with whales and Eileen and I could not buy it fast enough when we saw it! We were giggling like little school girls, especially when from the shelf above the material a roll of silver trim FELL OFF right into Eileen's hand! LOL.
Our sweet and lovely and wonderful and adorable (oh how I can go on!) Sister Bridget, shared pictures of her aprons on her Facebook Page. Her is a picture of her Gran Bwa apron (of course it has a matching headscarf!) It has cool beading and there are buttons that are leaf shaped on it. She also has a beautiful apron to Ogoun Badagris on her Facebook page.
All in all, these aprons and head scarves are a labor of love and much time is spent in the planning of them and choosing things to go with them. :-) If you have any questions, please let us know!
Love, light, and peace,
Mambo Samantha Corfield

Hello everyone!
People tell me all the time they would do more service/ritual to the Lwa (Vodou Spirits) but they "just don't have the time." Now I realize that we could go back at them saying that they should or could "make the time." However, in today's world, that sometimes is not as easy as it sounds! But almost anyone can find five minutes in a day to do my quickie service below.
The service does assume that you have a few things on hand and have some basic knowledge of ritual: Candles (keeping a few white candles on hand is great because you can use them for any lwa), a glass of water or other beverage, and a small food offering that would be appropriate for almost any lwa (something simple such as a cookie or even a piece of bread).
You can do this quick service almost anywhere!
1. Put your candle with a glass of water or other beverage on a counter or table.
2. As you light the candle, ask Papa Legba to "please open the gate for me and allow ___________ (which ever lwa you are honoring) to pass over."
3. "Present" the glass of water by holding it out to the East, West, North, and South. Say, "For you __________________ (which ever lwa you are honoring)."
4. Place the water back down near the candle.
5. "Present" the food offering as per #3 above. Place it down next to the water and candle.
6. Take one or two minutes to talk with the lwa you have asked to come over to you. You might have a request or perhaps you are just wanting to honor that particular lwa.
7. Thank the lwa and Papa Legba for their time and help.
8. If you can, leave the candle burning (safely) for a little while longer while you do other things. This is a great little service to do while you are getting ready for the day. You can start it up, get showered and dressed, and then end the service. If you need to close out the service more quickly, then just proceed to Step #9.
9. Extinguish your candle and ask Papa Legba to "close the gate when it pleases you." You can leave the food and water for disposal until later or even the next day. If you need to get rid of it more quickly it is great if you can pour the water outside and leave the cookie/food outside somewhere. If you cannot, then just dispose of the water down the sink and wrap the cookie/food up in brown paper (such as just a brown paper bag) and throw it away.
There you did a little service in five minutes! And yes, it counts. Yes, it can help. Yes, it is pleasing to the lwa. Folks have a tendency to think that the lwa will only respond to big, elaborate
service. That just isn't true. Every service that is well intended is well received!
Please continue to have a great and safe weekend!
Love,
Mambo Sam

Hi there, everyone!
Someone asked me a question the other day about what things in our www.spellmaker.com product line did I think got the most overlooked - what did people forget about that might be helpful for them? It was really such an interesting question! :-) This person has had a unique challenge that they have been working on for awhile now and wondered if they overlooking something that could help them.
It really did get me to thinking and I thought that I would share some of my answers to them with you, at least as much as I can without divulging information about their case. So here is my list of overlooked products:
1. The Voodoo Self Improvement Doll: This ranks way up there in overlooked and underused products. Most clients are very interested in changing someone else, or changing how someone else thinks. :-) Nothing wrong with that, however, the ability to "change" or improve one's self can be crucial to a case. For instance, let's say you are working on a love case where you were with someone and they broke up with you. You know for sure that there are some qualities about you that caused the break up. There are some things that your partner expressed to you that needed changing or that they didn't care for. Now as long as we aren't talking about your inherent belief system or something that is very important to you, why not try to change or improve that quality about yourself? Chances are, it probably is something that you know needs changing! ;-)
Also, let's say that YOU personally think that there was something about you that may have negatively impacted your relationship, some behavior that you feel needs changing. Don't be afraid to use this doll! :-)
What if you are working on spells like Get a Job(tm) or Big Money(tm)? Do you feel like maybe your job skills are a little rusty or perhaps your interview methods aren't perfect? Maybe you are nervous about interviewing? Maybe you fear that money and wealth are not for you? Maybe you have accepted your "fate" as being someone who just doesn't deserve money and wealth? Using the self-improvement doll to change your thinking is perfect.
There are so many things that we overlook about ourselves that can impact any kind of case we are working on! Remember that you are an intergral part of your own case, not just the people you are trying to affect with your spell work! :-)
2. Cosmic Voodoo Destiny Egg and Cosmic Voodoo Spirituality Egg: Again, this is about the awareness of "self" (a much overlooked subject when people do spell work). The Cosmic Voodoo Destiny Egg can be used in a number of useful ways in spell work - especially love spell work. Why not use this egg to create the "destiny" of you and the person you want to be with? Using the visualization and spell techniques of the egg - you can use this tool as a perfect adjunct work to love spell work - CREATE the DESTINY that you WANT with you and the person you want to be with!
Don't know what you want your destiny to be? Petition for guidance and signs to see what direction you want your life to go in?
Again with job, luck, and money spell work - create that destiny! Certainly with adjunct work such as the Destiny Egg you can reinforce your spell work adding in this work where you start to create the destiny that you wish to live.
The Spirituality Egg can also be used in different ways for many different goals as well. One thing that is very common is that people are very hurt, angry, and lost when they start spell work and often, too, when a case goes on for longer than anyone hopes that it will. We start to lose faith, lose energy, and lose belief even in our selves! The Spirituality Egg is the perfect way to renew your spiritual energy, no matter what case you are working on! If you feel yourself getting down and feeling lost and feeling like nothing can work for you, using the Spirituality Egg to petition for spiritual strength to go on, to boost your spiritual energy, and to deepen your spiritual understanding is a great way to enhance your spell work (and your life in general!).
3. High John the Conquerer Root Bag: Many folks do use these root bags. However, lots of folks don't use them, don't know what they are for or how they can help them. High John root bags are one of those things that I feel that anyone who is going to do magick on a regular basis should have! High John root is traditionally used to strengthen any and all magick! It is also a personal luck and guidance and protection mechanism. It is something that people should keep for a lifetime and it has a tendency to take on a living energy of its own. Many people just won't be without theirs! I personally have had mine about 40 years. :-)
Simply used to put on an altar to strengthen the magick, bring luck and guidance, and strengthen one's own personal magickal powers are some of the ways to use this bag.
4.Holy Hyssop Bath Additive: Certainly this is not a substitute for something like the Milk of Damballh White Bath. However, not every situation warrants doing a complete white bath. There are days when you feel a temporary flood of negative emotions or you are just down or just need a quick rejuvenation! That is where the Holy Hyssop Bath Additive can come in! It is a great thing to just keep on hand for a quick bath to refresh yourself, refresh your energy, remove the negativity of the day, etc. This can certainly keep you from building up negative energy, especially if you already did a white bath!
5. The New Orleans Voodoo Lucky Doll: This special doll is really underused! It is a perfect way to bring more luck into the situation you are working on - love, money, etc. It is a doll that you can keep around and just use every so often to boost a situation. Going to see the person you are working on? Do a quick session with this doll beforehand. Going on an interview? Again, do a quick session with this doll. It isn't something you need to do every day, but certainly it is something that falls under the category of situational magickal - you want to influence a particular situation at a particular time to enhance an opportunity for success right at that moment. :-) This is a product that you can just keep around and pull it out when you know you are going into a circumstance where you could use some luck!
So there are a few things that can be very helpful in day-to-day spell work, enhance your work, boost your adjunct work, etc. :-)
Thanks to the client who asked the question in the first place! It really did make me think. :-)
Love, light, and peace,

Happy Monday, everyone! Happy Labor Day!
I am really excited to be offering another item into our jewelry and charms dedicated to the lwa! This time it is bracelets... very nice, really sturdy - made with rubber, leather, and stainless steel. Each is consecrated to a particular lwa.
There is something especially powerful about a good bracelet that has been blessed to bring out the power of a particular lwa. Bracelets are generally worn on the wrist where the pulse points are bringing the power out into your hands - the hands that do magick and spell work! :-) Needless to say, putting something powerful right onto the very source of your energy flow is very desirable.
Plus, I think these bracelets look really great, too! Bonus! :-) I am definitely hoping to add more to this collection!
Check them out on the page with the Vodou Charms and Earrings!
I hope you all have a safe and wonderful holiday!

Hello everyone!
Are you on the right track? Do you have a spell work goal? Are you focused on what you hope to accomplish? If you are, then you are on the right track! To move forward on the right track, though, you still have to work at that goal.
Knowing the goal and just pining after it simply will not work! You have to put the "work" in spell work. So many of my good folks out there are just on the brink of success with their spell work when they seem to just sit down on the track instead of continuing to travel it. ;-) Get up, get moving. Remember that every candle you light, every incense you burn, and every petition that you chant brings you just that much closer to success.
God, the Ancestors, and Les Lois help those who help themselves. Get cracking!

Note: Well, I don't know why it didn't, but this was supposed to post yesterday as a follow up to the post about using your www.spellmaker.com products that you have laying around. Anyway, see below!
--------------------------
Hello everyone! So yesterday I was blogging about using the Spellmaker products that you have laying around! They can't do you much good if you don't actually use them. ;-) So to that end, if you have products laying around that are older than a year, it is a really good idea to reconsecrate them. Even if you don't, they will still have benefit, but it will really up their power if you take the time to reconsecrate them. You can do more than one product at a time, but I wouldn't do more than three at a time for the best effect, I think.
Note: Where is says "spell kit" it can be any product of ours!
Here is how to reconsecrate your products from Spellmaker that are over a year old:
Note: You can print out this ritual to put by your side to read from it as you reconsecrate the spell kit.
Wash your hands and put the spell kit on some surface like a desk or table. Place a glass of water next to it.
Sit down in front of the kit.
With the index finger of your left hand, trace a cross [like this sign: "+"] in front of the spell kit.
Dip the fingers of your left hand into the glass of water, put your hand out to your left side and shake the water off your fingers three times toward the floor or carpet. Dip your fingers again into the water and turn around directly behind the spell kit to shake your fingers three times to sprinkle the water. Repeat dipping your fingers into the glass and then shaking your fingers three times to sprinkle water to your right side.
Pick up the glass and drink the rest of the water.
Now, as you're sitting there facing the spell kit, rotate your upper body (from the waist up, similar to using a hula hoop) in a circular motion three times counterclockwise, i.e., start turning to your left.
When you've finished rotating your upper torso three times, then say:
"Hey, Legba, let my words carry to the other side. Open the gates, please, Legba, to let the helpers pass over."
[Pause]
Clap your hands three times and say aloud to the helper Loi for this spell:
"Baron, Baron, Baron Samedi, come to my aid to reconsecrate this spell kit."
[Pause]
Now, pick up the spell kit and hold it up, presenting it reverently to our Lois (Papa Legba and Baron Samedi) and say aloud:
"Papa Legba and Baron Samedi, I present this spell kit to you and ask for your blessing to reconsecrate it. This spell kit was originally blessed and consecrated over a year ago by your servant, Rev. Samantha Kaye.
"Because it's been over a year, that which was once new is now old. But there is no time with you - all things which are old can become new again. I ask now that you send your power to renew all of the strength, power and ingredients for this ________ [insert the name of the spell kit]
"I honor you and ask for your blessings as you reconsecrate this spell kit to renew its power."
[Pause as you're still holding up the spell kit to them.]
Then say aloud:
"I thank you for your blessings and for reconsecrating this spell kit."
Place the spell kit back on the table or desk.
Say aloud:
"Baron Samedi, thank you for your help and if it pleases you, you may now depart."
"Papa Legba, thank you and if it pleases you, you may close the gates now and depart."
Your kit is now reconsecrated and ready to use.

"Getting your ducks in a row is not nearly as powerful as actually doing something with your duck." Seth Godin
Besides some pretty funny imagery that comes up when reading that quote, it really rings true with me with some of the good folks that I speak with during consultations. Very often I will ask, "what of our magickal products do you have on hand to work with?" I am trying to find out what they already have on hand that might help the situation for which they asked to consult me on.
So pretty often the answer is candle magick kits, incense, or a voodoo doll, or some oils, etc. Surprisingly, many of the items that they have are ones that they have never used despite the fact that they already have on hand the very things that could have helped them! Their "ducks" were all sitting in a pretty row, neatly packaged, in the back of a closet, or in a drawer, or in a box under the bed.
What are you doing with your "duck?" Are you experiencing some issues, problems, concerns with your case? Do you have candles, oils, doll, laying around unused? Pick them up! Dust them off! They are there to help you!
Remember, also, your caseworker is there to help you! If you have www.spellmaker.com products laying around that you haven't used or stopped using, please consider picking them up again. Don't just sit around accepting the things that might be happening to you, especially if you have the tools already there to help you! :-) Your caseworker can help you tremendously in putting together a program of usage for the things you have!

Happy Saturday, everyone! As Sister Bridget recently mentioned in her blog, we now have "refill" or "replacement" packs for our Haitian Vodou Formula Baths!
One of our most popular baths, the Milk of Damballah™ White Bath is something that I have actually been recommending to certain clients for years as something that can be re-done in parts. Most of the time these clients were folks who were working on especially hard love case, tough job or money goal, anything that seemed fraught with ongoing negativity. In those cases, I recommended that they do the original bath and then buy another one and take the herbs out of the herb packet and divide the other part of the bath mixture and do a refresh on the bath over several days or weeks, as necessary.
In those cases, I recommended that they just use a little bit at a time any time they were feeling down or sad or negative about their particular case, no matter what the reason. Having done the original bath, they could easily call back on that energy. The great thing about now having the refill packs is that you no longer have to keep buying the complete white bath if you have recently done one.
One thing, however, like Sister Bridget said, we hate to keep harping on it, but you must first do the original bath before using the refresher pack. If you don't, you are wasting your time using the refresher pack. :-) Also, if it has been more than a year since you did the original bath, I would suggest redoing the original bath in its entirety if you have not done any refreshers. However, if you are doing refreshers regularly, you can just keep going with that!
Especially with the white bath, it would be nice to think that you would be rid of negativity forever! What a world that would be! Unfortunately, we are all bombarded by negative images, thoughts, and energies almost every day of our life. Getting rid of them can lead to better health, attainment of goals, lifting of depression and so much more. Yes, sometimes you have to work at it, but the results are so worth it!
Love to all!

Hello everyone! Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, that was a lot of potion that I made yesterday! LOL. It was so much fun to do it that way, though. I really felt so much energy and good vibrations from doing those big old pots of love potion!!
Even though I made quite a bit of it, I am going to only leave it up for sale another 24 hours. When all the orders are filled that already came in, if I have any left over, I will put those jars up for sale again. Right at this minute, I know that I have quite a few "extra" jars left, but I obviously want to make sure that everyone who ordered gets their order! So, this is only going to be available another 24 hours, but, as I said, if there is extra, I will put it back up for sale.
For those of you who made your own potion, and those of you who are getting the potion I made, remember there are a lot of ways to use this potion. I believe Sister Bridget is going to post some ideas on how to use the potion. Remember, a little bit of this potion goes a long way! You only need to add in a few drops of it to something else - not necessarily to get your intended to drink a whole glass of it! :-) Have fun with it!

Hello all you magickal creatures! :-) Parran Matt and I are preparing all the ingredients to make our Love Potion #9 for those of you who ordered it! We have all the big pots in the house filling up with wine. I picked the basil and roses right out of our own garden and we harvested the apple seeds last night (I am going to be making a lot of apple pie filling later on!).
Don't forget, though, this is a great day to do ANY magick, say prayers, light a candle, do whatever spiritual endeavors you like. The power of the triple 3's in the 09/09/09 day is sure to give a huge boost to whatever magick you are doing!
Even if you can't do any magick today, try to allow the energy and power of this day wash over you. Make it a lucky day for you! Do something wonderful for yourself and someone else - remember that magick needs a carrier! Be the magickal carrier today - spread joy and luck from your heart to the heart of others.

Hello everyone! Just a quick note to let you all know that the first batch of new charms are ready! I cannot even tell you how excited we are to offer these. They are so nice and such a good quality... all shiny stainless steel on black leather cords with stainless steel clasps. Nice!
Also, we are doing things a bit differently this time with charms: Each charm is dedicated to a specific lwa and you will know who that lwa is. Our old charms were dedicated a little bit differently and worked great, but we are feeling these are going to be even better. Now this doesn't mean throw your old charms away! NO way! However, you can use these with them or alone.
One thing that was a little disappointing about the old charms was that over the years the manufacturing of them had degenerated quite a bit. When we first started carrying them almost 15 years ago, they were much better. But as time passed, we noticed that we were getting a more inferior quality. Now, that would not affect the overall efficacy of the charm, but still, we want to be giving you something nice for your money, too. I mean I could consecrate a paper clip and it would have some power, but no one particularly wants to wear that... hmmm, wait, I think I saw a girl wearing a paper clip earring the other day so nevermind! LOL.
Anyway, go check them out!! We are excited! Can you tell? ;-)

This year will be a particularly wonderful year for making this potion because it will be made on 09/09/09 this year! :-) Of course that gives us the triple threat, right? ;-)
For some reason, there always seem to be some confusion on when the "ninth hour" of the day is - even though I have it printed on the instructions that the ninth hour of ANY day is 9:00 a.m., not 9:00 p.m. - so the potion is supposed to be made at 9:00 a.m.
Because this is such a special year for making the potion, if there is enough interest, we will make a big batch here at Spellmaker and make it available for purchase, if folks wnat it. Obviously, 09/09/09 isn't going to be around again, so we are in a position to make a very strong batch of this potion! Usually we do not make here for sale at the Spellmaker office, but because of the special date, we will make it this time if people are interested.
If there is enough interest and we do make the batch, we will make a big batch and then consecrate the bottles individually for those who want to purchase it. We would probably make it available in about an 8 ounce container - so that would be more than enough for personal usage.
So, if you think you might interested in purchasing a container from us and/or you cannot make your own for any reason, please email us at [email protected] and let us know. If there is enough interest, we will definitely do it!
In the meantime, check out the Spellmaker Forum for the recipe or click the link above for the recipe for making your own Love Potion #9!

Hello, welcome to Day Four of our exercise.
Instructions: Take a few deep breaths and relax yourself. Stare at the picture below with the thought in mind: "What do I have?" Spend about 3-5 minutes staring at the picture and asking yourself the same question, "What do I have?" After about 3-5 minutes, write down some of your impressions. When you are done writing, stare at the picture again and ask yourself the same question, "What do I have?" After about 3-5 minutes, write down your impressions. Repeat the process one more time. After your final writing down of your impressions (you should have written something down three separate times), close your notebook and do not go back and read your impressions. Get up and get away from your computer for a few minutes, drink some water, or take a short walk. Come back tomorrow and do Day Five. :-)

As I have mentioned in many posts and teachings, Papa is a great communicator with the ability to speak and translate all languages and dialects. He can open many doors, including those doors of communication that are so important to all of us in all of our relationships.
Of course, we also have the Famous Red Mummy candle magick kit that we use for communication. ;-) Now while it, naturally, comes with its own special bottle of oil, you can certainly also use some of the Papa's Gatekey™ Oil on those red mummies, too! What better way to boost that communication than with Papa's oil. It isn't called "Gatekey" for NO reason! ;-) And since communication is the "key" to all relationships, certainly you can see the correlation there!
So for those of you who have asked about putting this oil on your Red Mummy candles, the answer is absolutely yes! Oil that mummy up! It also certainly would not hurt to burn some of Papa's Open Door™ incense with it, either!

Happy Thursday, everyone!
Of course by now most of you know that we recently launched our new sex magick products. Many of you have let us know of some really great results that you have had in enhancing and encouraging those special intimate relationships in your life! :-)
During a recent consultation with a very dear client, he asked me about using the sex magick products in conjunction with our extremely popular Famous Red Mummy candle kit. I was very excited to guide him that, yes, indeed, these products could be used together quite successfully!!
Now, quite often the Red Mummy is used to "control" a situation and I am not suggesting that you try to sexually control anyone at any time! However, the other usage of the Red Mummy is to help open the path of communication with someone. That is where I felt like my wonderful client had really hit the nail on the head. ;-)
Successful communication with sexual intimacy can be very key in a good relationship. Also, using these products in conjunction with each other to communicate your sexual needs to someone as well as receive communication about their sexual needs is another great use of these products together.
Needless to say, communicating with your partner (or desired partner) in a spiritual way to lead to the intimacy of a true, loving, spiritual and sexual relationship is something very powerful! Remember, when you are doing the sex magick itself, you are calling on the very power of creation. There isn't anything more powerful than that! So when you call in the Red Mummy into the equation of the sex magick, you are now creating an atmosphere of communication, understanding, and nuturing. In this type of atmosphere, a relationship is encouraged to grow and blossom, both sexually and spiritually. It really is the best of two worlds, melding them into one!
Now don't worry if you don't know how to use these products together! That is what your caseworker is for! If you desire to use these particular products in conjunction with each other, please ask your caseworker to help you with how to do this properly. (What? You say you don't have a caseworker?? Now why not? It's fun, it's free, it's fabulous! Just write to [email protected] and request that someone be assigned to help you!)
And as to my dear client who had this idea in the first place: Thank you my friend, you know who you are! Love you!!!!
Love, light, and peace to all,
Mambo Samantha Corfield

As we continue talking about adjunct work, I wanted to cover the usage of your love doll (deluxe or regular) with other products.
The love doll is one of the most effective products that you can use for your love case. Just the love doll itself, even without using it in combination work, is a powerful tool for communicating directly with your HD (Heart's Desire, what we call the person you are working on). The doll becomes a direct pipeline right to your HD's Higher Self.
So of course, when you combine using the doll with other products, that ups the efficacy of BOTH of those products! :-) One of my favorite combinations of work is the love doll with the Cosmic Voodoo™ Healing Egg. In most cases, something needs to either be healed within the relationship you are trying to have or perhaps themselves. When you combine using the Healing Egg with your Love Doll, you are really doubling that healing power.
For instance, if the person you are doing your spell work on has a fear of commitment; that is something that we would consider needs healing. By setting up both your Cosmic Voodoo Egg ritual AND your love doll ritual at the same time, you are bringing the level of power WAY UP THERE!! ;-) Many things in a relationship that you might think would not necessarily be considered something that needs healing actually can respond to healing! What if your HD has a "wandering eye" towards others partners? You can actually work on that with "healing" their desire for others! (Now that kind of healing would definitely call for combination work!)
Is your HD someone you don't seem to be able to depend on? You could use your Egg and Doll combination to work towards "healing" them of being undependable! So the trick is to look at what you might consider negative traits in your HD and consider those as maladies to be healed.
Another great way to use the love doll in combination is with
Now of course you have all now been introduced to our new sex magick products! Using the sex magick candles with the love doll is a great way to enhance the sexual energy work greatly. If your sex life is flagging or even non-existent with your HD, then using the doll with the sex nmagick will certainly boost things. Also, using this sexual energy in combination with the loving energy of the doll brings the relationship energy to a highly intimate level, right where you want it!
There are, of course, many other ways you could use the love doll in conjunction with our other products! :-) If you are unsure how to do this, please talk to your caseworker. If you have some other ideas of adjunct work, please leave a comment below! I would love to see your ideas, too!

Happy Monday, everyone!
Lately it seems that a number of you have had some questions about combination work. I suppose first off, we should talk a little bit about what combination work actually is.
What we here at Spellmaker term combination work is when you are working with adjunct work, such as candle magick kits, voodoo doll work, Cosmic Voodoo™ Eggs, etc. These are products that are generally used to enhance, strengthen, or work on details during or after one has used the regular Cosmic Voodoo™ spell kits.
So what I would like to do is go over a series of ways to use certain products over the next few days. Feel free to ask any questions you have simply by commenting in the comment section below. :-)
So today I would like to talk about the Red Mummy Candles. Most often we recommend that these candles be used to open up communication between yourself and someone else, or perhaps even two people that you would like to communicate better with each other. For instance, let's say that you have a man in your life who doesn't get along well with your children or your children don't accept him in your life. In that case, you could use the Red Mummy to petition for that man and your children to open up communication between themselves, separately from you, to build their own relationship.
For the most part, however, we use the Red Mummy to help us with communication between ourselves and someone else. So that is great! However, you can also use that Red Mummy in combination with, for instance, a white gender candle(appropriate to the sex of the person that you want to work on) to petition away negative energy from a bad argument, or any other type of negative communication you had with a person. If you need a person to "forget" a bad incident between you, then you can use the white male or female candle along with a Red Mummy to facilitate that.
The Red Mummy could also be used with your love doll to open up communication between you and the person you love - to make that communication loving and sweet and romantic.
Since communication is KEY to any and all relationships, using the Red Mummy in combination with almost any of your other adjunct products can help bring about the type of communication you want and help insure that you get that perfect dialogue going with that someone special.
In many instances, you could use, for instance, two white image candles - let's say you are a male/female couple - one white image candle to represent you, one to represent your intended, and also use the Red Mummy. In this way you can petition to open up that communication between the two of you, stating HOW you want it to happen, WHEN, and WHAT is the nature that you want the communication to take. You could also use it with a red set of image candles, pink set, etc., depending on what kind of communication you want: Positive where there has been something negative happening to your communication with this person (use white candles with the Red Mummy. Romantic where things have been cold (use the pink candles with the Red Mummy). Passionate and loving where loving communication has been at a stalemate (use the red candles).
I am sure you can think of many ways yourself to use the Red Mummy; just think in terms of communicating with that person you want to be with! I would love to hear the creative ways some of you have come up with to use the Red Mummy in combination with other products. We talked a lot about this in class. Have any of you used those techniques? How did it work out for you?
If you are confused on how to use this kind of combination work, please ask your caseworker! They are there to help you! :-) It can be a little tricky trying to use more than one product at a time in combination with each other, but it can be done. Just ask if you need help with it!
Love, light, and peace,
Mambo Sam
