How to Stay in a Good Mood

How to Stay in a Good Mood

By: Michael A. Verdicchio

Have you ever noticed how easy it is for people to be happy, excited, and positive when things go well? When there are no big problems, people feel good, and life is great! At those times, it is easy to be in a good mood. But, can you be in a good mood when things are not going well?

In general, when things are going well and there are no immediate problems, most people find it easy to be positive. As a result, they are in a good mood, and have a good day.

(For some people, it really doesn't matter if they are having a good day or a bad day. They remain convinced that even if something good is happening now, it certainly won't last. I honestly don't understand how someone with this line of thinking could ever be in a good mood.)

However, what about those times when a problem comes up? What happens when something unpleasant presents itself? It's not so easy to remain positive...or is it?

Nobody wants to have a problem come up, no matter how small. However, negative and unpleasant circumstances are going to happen from time to time. That's just a part of life. Tires wear out, sinks get clogged, and sometimes, people just do stupid things!

When something negative does comes up, most people change from being happy and positive to being upset. The circumstances and situations have changed, and consequently their mood changes. For some people, even the slightest bump in the road can really set them off emotionally!

Our emotions and feelings are a direct product of our thoughts. We are the ones who choose our thoughts. We can't always choose what happens in life, but we can always choose what we think.

I'm not saying that we should try to live in a make believe world by telling ourselves blanket statements like, "Nothing is wrong; everything is okay." We certainly do need to assess the situation in order to respond with specific positive statement.

What? Respond with a positive statement? Yes, respond with a positive statement. A solution oriented statement. (Maybe even respond with two or three positive statements!)

Suppose you come home from the grocery store to find that your eggs are broken, because of the way they were packed into your grocery bag at the store. What would your reaction be?

You could get angry. You could say, "Now I've got to go all the way back to the store! Why don't they teach those young kids how to do it right? I knew he had a lousy attitude...probably did it on purpose. I'm going to talk to the manager!"

Hey! Chill out! This may sound like a silly illustration, but as a teenager I worked at a grocery store, putting items into grocery bags, and believe me, I have seen far worse reactions!

Can you respond with a positive statement for this situation? Sure! Why not?

"Okay, I'll just take these back now. I wonder, is there anything else that I need while I'm out? I I'm certainly glad that there are plenty of eggs at the store. In fact, I'm glad to have so much food available right down the street."

Here's the point. Our thoughts determine our emotions and feelings. Then, our actions follow. The kind of mood you are in right now is not someone else's fault; it is a result of your decision to think the way that you are thinking.

Try to evaluate your reactions for a few days. Especially take note of how you react to something unpleasant. Observe where your mind goes, and watch how your emotions and feelings correspond.

Here's the challenge. Starting with little things, like a couple of broken eggs, you can begin to train your mind to react differently in unpleasant and negative situations. If you stay consistent, you can get to the point that even in the midst of a very serious negative situation, you will still be in control of your mind, your emotions, and most importantly, your actions.

Many people allow their current circumstances and situations to determine their thoughts, emotions and actions. They do not realize that they can change the way that they react. Train your mind to react the way you want. Learn to live your life being in control of your thoughts, your emotions and your actions.

If You Were an Angel... What Would You Do?

Being of service to others is such a big part of Voodoo for me. When I saw this article, i felt really drawn to pass it along to you all. I hope you enjoy! Light and Love, Bridget

~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you were an Angel what could you do to make a difference? What would you do? To some this is an overwhelming question. The first thought that would go through many minds is " What I do wouldn't make much of a difference ... I am only one person." Get past that! Remember ... the question is if you were an Angel. Angels can be everywhere, be all and do all as they are messengers of God.
With that in mind ... now answer the question. What would you do? Start small. Start with your community. What could you do to bring about change? Remember, we are talking baby steps here. Baby steps become giant steps once you get started.
First make a list ... write down each idea or thought as it comes.
Here is an example of a 'What Would I do Angel List':
• How or what could I do as an Angel to make a difference?
• Is there an area in my community that could possibly use my help?
• What areas am I good at?
• I can sing
• I am good with computers
• I really like to cook
• I love to read
• I am good with children
• I can draw and paint
• I love to drive
• I am good at sports
• I am good at math
• I am good with the elderly
• I am good with business
• How can I use this list of what I am good at to benefit others ... to serve the public in the areas of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual growth?
Once you have the list then you have a direction to go in. See what is available in your area that may already have a program in progress that could use your services, check out the community colleges, maybe teach a class or be a tutor, read to the elderly or just keep them company, be a friend ... the list is endless ... someone can use your gifts and abilities. You can make a difference just sread your wings and fly!
Angels are people who care about others, willing and wanting to make a difference. This is the main ingredient. Angels are dedicated to enriching the quality of life. They assist in creating heaven on earth in a joyful way.
If you were an Angel ... what would you do?
My Spellmaker Story
Hi!
I have gotten several emails in the last 2 weeks asking me about my story with Spellmaker, how I became a caseworker, how much sucess have I had working with these products.
I came to Spellmaker just like most all of you did -- I was looking for help. I had just been thru an ugly break up with a long term boyfriend (actually it was the THIRD time he'd broken up with me) and I was desperate for some way to work things out. My caseworker was Orleanna (Honor to her!) and she was very patient and answered my questions, and talked me thru *many* months of castings, waiting, and casting again. But, no matter how hard I tried, my case just didnt budge. I didnt understand it. I was sooooo certain that I could make this work (again). But I couldnt, and it didnt. It took me a long time to accept that fact, even tho I didnt (at that time) understand it. Fast forward about 2 years. I bump into someone who was a mutual friend of my HD and myself. We are chatting while on line at the grocery store, and he says to me "Hey- did you hear (HD) is getting out next month?" . "Getting out of where?" I asked. "Jail! Didnt you know? He's been in jail for the last year and a half".  I was shocked. I wont say here what he had gone to jail for, but it was something pretty awful. Actually, it was hideously bad. I was suddenly overcome with such a sense of relief, realising for the first time, how truly bad this man had been for me, and how trashed my life could have become had I remained entanged with him.
I was very lucky to have a wonderful man enter my life not too long ago. He is, hands down, the most perfect  person I could find to share my life with. He is *nothing* like my original HD. He values the same things that I do, he is caring and warm and thoughtful and treats me with dignity and respect. None of these things did I have in my first relationship. None. Now, this new guy didnt come completely baggage free (I dont think anyone alive over 30 can be baggage free....) but nothing that a little healing work couldnt help :-)  Anyway, my message here is that even tho things can get confusing and frustrating and make no sense at all, TRUST that things will work out for your best interest. I know how hard that can be to see, or understand, when you are hurting and scared and just want what you want..... but these spells will never ever bring you something bad for you. And if you cant see it right away, I promise that you will see it someday.
Thank you, Mambo Sam!
I have also had very good results with the Lots A Luck and Big Money Kits. Just as one example, I did these kits last winter, asking for enough money to put a roof on my house and to replace my old vehicle with a newer one. I was able to to both of these things this summer.
And one more thing -- I just have to say that the Courthouse Power spell totally ROCKS! I also got incredible results from this kit.
So, that is a brief summary of some of my spellcasting escapades. Which leaves the question of how I became a caseworker.
After having worked with Mambo Sam and her products for several years, having used everything in the catalog at least once :-) one day I received an email from Mambo asking me if I would be interested in being a caseworker. I was shocked and greatly honored all in the same moment. After thinking it over for about, um, 2 seconds, I sent an email back with a big "YES!" and immediatley went into training. I worked really closely with Mambo Sam and Orleanna for several months before I took on my very own first case. And that, as they say, is that!
Mambo Sam told me a long time ago that people are drawn to Voodoo for a multitude of reasons. I believe my reason for being drawn here is to be of service. To help others as Mambo Sam and Orleanna helped me.
Love Doll 411
Hi All,
A Voodoo Love Doll can be one of the most important items in your spell casting toolbox! Every case can benefit from one! Below is some info about love dolls that I collected from Mambo Sam. I thought it might be helpful to some of you , so I decided to post it here :-)
You can check out our love dolls at http://www.spellmaker.com/doll.htm
Light and Love, Bridget
Here's the 411 on the subject of love doll use (deluxe or regular -
doesn't matter):
1.  Never, ever do your love doll when you are in any way feeling
negative about your HD.
2.  You must be feeling positive, loving, supportive and very much
in love with your HD otherwise what are you sending them?????  If
you don't feel like doing a doll session, then don't.  It isn't
mandatory to do them any set number of days, times, or sessions.
You should always approach the love doll like you are going out on a
date with your HD. :-)  You should be happy, positive, and excited
that you are going to talk with them.
3.  Talk to your doll as if it were your HD.
4.  Don't always ask for something (a call, to return to you, etc.).
Instead, some of the sessions simply use the doll to send your love,
your support for any troubled times that s/he might be going
through, the message that the door is always open, etc.).  Indeed,
you can and should use your doll part of the time to ask for all
that you are willing to give to be returned, but it is an extremely
good tool to use simply to send warm and fuzzy feelings.
5.  If it seems to you that your HD is "overwhelmed" then make your
love doll sessions a little more casual.  Do the ritual as
instructed, however, maybe just talk about some fun times that you
have had in the past or tell your HD what happened to you that day,
something like that.  Remember, it is YOUR energy that is getting
through to your HD - so careful what you send; if you send pain,
chaos, resentment, etc., that is most likely what your HD will
receive and probably return to you.
6.  Whether you are using a deluxe love doll or a regular love doll,
you are still sending some pretty powerful information out there, so
make it count and make it good.  (And really the difference in
whether you use a deluxe or a regular love doll is mainly based on
your HD; if they are a stubborn cuss, then deluxe in the way to go;
if they are more easy going, then regular is the way to go!)
Truthfully, I think that everyone who is working on love spells
should use a love doll if they can.  (Financial and living concerns
come first, that is why I say use if it you can.)  That doll can be
your best friend, your open pipeline of communication to your HD,
and a powerful tool to send and receive the right kind of messages
with your HD.
And, lastly, a little bit of common sense goes a long way:   Think
about what you really and truly want your HD to be thinking of you,
think of how you want things to remind him/her of you, think of how
you want him/her to be picturing you and put that into your doll.
Navaho chant
Mambo Sam sent me this prayer a while back and it has become very special to me. I spent a few minutes each day saying it as I got up in the mornings, and thought a bit about what it meant to me as I was driving to work. A few minutes each day made such a big difference in my life, in my perspective about things. Try it and see! I hope it is as helpful to you as it has been for me.
Navaho chant
House made of dawn.
House made of evening light.
House made of the dark cloud.
House made of male rain.
House made of dark mist.
House made of female rain.
House made of pollen.
House made of grasshoppers.
Dark cloud is at the door.
The trail out of it is dark cloud.
The zigzag lightning stands high upon it.
An offering I make.
Restore my feet for me.
Restore my legs for me.
Restore my body for me.
Restore my mind for me.
Restore my voice for me.
This very day take out your spell for me.
Happily I recover.
Happily my interior becomes cool.
Happily I go forth.
My interior feeling cool, may I walk.
No longer sore, may I walk.
Impervious to pain, may I walk.
With lively feelings may I walk.
As it used to be long ago, may I walk.
Happily may I walk.
Happily, with abundant dark clouds, may I walk.
Happily, with abundant showers, may I walk.
Happily, with abundant plants, may I walk.
Happily, on a trail of pollen, may I walk.
Happily may I walk.
Being as it used to be long ago, may I walk.
May it be beautiful before me.
May it be beautiful behind me.
May it be beautiful below me.
May it be beautiful above me.
May it be beautiful all around me.
In beauty it is finished.
In beauty it is finished.
Partial Castings - what are they?
Hi All -
I often get emails from clients with confined living arrangements, have a lack of privacy, or privacy only on certain days of the week, who would like very much to do a dual casting, but simply cant, or are severely limited in what they can do. For these folks, we often recommend something called a "partial casting".
If someone finds that they lack the privacy or time to do a complete kit, it is better to do at least part of it (whether they have Mambo Sam work for them or not) then to not do any of it. This is always the case, there are no exceptions. If they can work at least a little bit on their case, it is always to their benefit. Their energy and their intent towards their goal are very important in the spell work. They can go through the kit and see if they can do an abbreviated version of it. For instance, if it has bath crystals - can that part be done? Could they burn the candles for less time? (If they can burn them for three minutes rather than the 20 minutes or so - that would be better than not doing it at all.) Could the daily offering be left? Could they chant with the gris-gris bag a few minutes a day? Could they use the oils on yourself or the intended person? Could they sprinkle the herbs in an advantageous place (where the intended might walk on them)?
If they can have Mambo Sam work on it wit them and they can complete at least some of the steps, then it will be a much stronger spell casting.. Spending a few minutes a day doing some of the steps would be better than not doing it at all. Obviously, Mambo Sam does offer solo spell casting, but she is interested in you getting the best possible result by participating in your own case. If at all possible, if you are doing an "abbreviated" version of the kit - you should make the daily offering -- a cookie under a tree - put there with reverence and purity of intent is acceptable! In cases where you are doing an abbreviated version of the kit, it is probably a good idea to have Mambo Sam work with you for more effectiveness.
Sometimes people ask me exactly what items from the kit they should use for their partial work/abbreviated version (both terms are used interchangeably) and the answer is that because everybody's situation is different as to exactly how much privacy you have, then it's up to the client  to look through the kit and figure out which items they  feel they can use.
Hope this makes sense :) Basically, any energy someone can put forth on their own behalf is helpful to their case!  Yes, there are situations where a client absolutely can not do any work at home on their own behalf -- and it is for those folks that Mambo Sam offers the solo casting option. But if you can do even a little of your spellkit on your own, it will only help your case along.
Our Potions -- Uses and More!
The first and most common use of the potions is to wear them! Remember : these are very potent potions and only a drop or two is necessary to wear. Placing the potion on your skin at pulse points (those points where you can feel your pulse - such as inner wrist, behind the ear, inner elbow, behind the knees, etc.) are the best places to wear them. We use only the purest, finest natural ingredients when in them, but if you are sensitive to them being on your skin  another option is to put a few drop on a ball of cotton and put that in your pocket or bra, or putting the potion on something you are wearing. Using the potion when you are going into a situation that is appropriate for the potion you are using is most efficient. In other words, wearing a love potion when you aren't going to be around anyone that is a potential lover isn't going to do much good in the love department, BUT I have heard reports of clients wearing our Voodoo Love 999 into meetings and other social situations and have said that people in general were nicer and events went better than expected! A nice side effect to anything!
Another potential use of potion is to put it on something a person you want to affect with the potion is going to touch or wear. Again, just a drop or two is necessary. Door handles, telephones, remote controls are all good ideas, if you have access to them. I once had a client write to me that she placed a few drops of one of the love potions in her HD’s shoes, and spent the entire day focusing on him walking back to her! Another client wrote and told me about covering the toilet handle at her HD’s place with potion! The possibilities are endless J
Put the potion on a letter or card you are sending someone you want to  affect.
Drop a couple of drops of potion where someone you want to affect with the potion will walk through it.
Rub the potion on candles you are going to burn that are appropriate to your situation. In my last blog I covered ways to use potions with candle magick kits and on the candles in the love doll kits.
Drop a couple of drops of potion in your bath or someone else's. These potions make great spiritual bath oils!  Using just a capful of these potions while you soak in a bath will imbue your whole body with whatever purpose you are working on - love, luck, etc.  Time some alone time in the bath soaking in the essence of what it is that you want to accomplish.  To use:  Shower or bathe first so that you are already clean.   Run clean bathwater for yourself and put about a capful of your chosen potion in the bath water. Soak while focusing on your desires.  Don't rinse the potion off, try to air dry after this bath, and enjoy a great magickal day!
Use a few drops of potion in some pure, unscented baby oil or mineral oil to give a massage to someone (or yourself!) DON'T mix the potion with a scented oil.
And, of course, make up your own ways to use the potion! Just always remember to keep your goal in mind when using the potion and you can't go wrong!
You can see our full line of potions here at http://www.spellmaker.com/bayou.htm
Have  fun!
Potions vs. Oils
I often get emails from clients asking about our potions. I am hoping in the next few blogs to explain a little about these.
Sometimes people ask if using one of our potions on their candles make them much stronger. The potions ARE much stronger than the regular oils. The potions are based on very strong magickal principles. As to HOW much stronger (four times, ten times, fifty times stronger), I don't really think there is any way to know that. But obvious wisdom says that if you use a product that is naturally stronger, you are upping the strength of the candle. Again, usage is based on your perception of your situation - unless you are advised to do so by Mambo Sam or your caseworker. When they recommend a strategy such as this, they have a good reason for it - they are either being guided, or have seen a good result in a similar situation. Many times, we recommend to other clients what we have seen work for a client in a similar situation. Certainly we want everyone to benefit from everyone else's success!
So, which potion would be appropriate for which candles? First and foremost, be sure to check with your caseworker before ordering! But in general, the Voodoo Love 999 (which is an EXCELLENT all around love potion to have on hand – and it smells GREAT, too) can be used on any pink or red image candles. The Voodoo Love 999 is also the potion we frequently recommend using on the straight candles in the Love Doll kits. Using the potion in this way can help boost the power of your love doll session ;-)
For banishing work, the I Repel Thee potion is good for using on brown image candles. The Hex O Gram potion is good for these candles as well…..but be VERY VERY careful with this one ! Be sure to wear gloves when you handle it and be very careful not to spill any.
Don’t mix potions on the same candle – by that I mean, if you start using a candle with Voodoo Love 999, then use that potion each time you use that candle until it is completed. Use the herbs that come with the candle as per the general candle instructions after applying the potion.
Our potions can be found at www.SPELLMAKER.com/bayou.htm
Good Luck and more candle power to you!
